Young and promising
Almere-based Lopes Horeca Consulting is a young and dynamic company geared at providing management and legal advice. Its owner, Silvestre Lopes, is teeming with plans. Not only will the foundation stone be laid for the prestigious Lopes Hotel in his home town Almere (province of Flevoland, 25 km from Amsterdam) in June 2007, the kick-off for the Lopes International Business Club has been given as well. Furthermore, plans have been made to lanch a temp for employees in the hotel and restaurant industry.
Since 1993 Mr Lopes’ year-long experience in the hotel and restaurant industry has been the inspiration to run a successful company. As a Chief-Cook / and Manager, he has worked aboard ships and in four star hotels and restaurants spanning a period of 36 years. ‘Working seven days a week without fair wages made me lose confidence in my employer’, Lopes says and he was then only a small step away from starting his own company, with his year-long experience as a legacy: Lopes Horeca Consulting was born. Despite hard times at first, he never regretted this step towards total freedom.

His hotel and restaurant consulting bureau has the expertise to guide companies through the design and an optimal functioning of their business. Consulting hotels, restaurants and catering companies concerning the design of both the kitchen and the restaurant are at the center of his activities, as well as compiling an attractive menu cart and keeping this cart up to date. Lopes, moreover, is no stranger to recruiting employees for middle and high management jobs. Presently, by starting a temp agency Lopes intends to mediate for temp work in the hotel and restaurant industry.

‘Almere is the business town of the future’, Lopes says, ‘It is high time a decent five star hotel was built in this town.’ Especially for Almere, he developed his showpiece: a multifunctional hotel accommodating 120 rooms. Two of these will be turned into wedding suites and twenty into business apartments provided with state of the art communication equipment. The hotel provides business meetings and conference accommodation and accompanying leisure facilities including a bar dancing, restaurant, casino, swimming pool, sauna, bowling and tennis courts.
Lopes International Business Club
Though this hotel won’t open until October 2007, Lopes - waste any time in establishing his International Business Club, which will take up quarters in the hotel. The Business Club will, in his vision, be formed by approximately 5,000 members in a couple of years from now, representing people form politics, businesses and (top)sport gathering regularly, and who – through their membership – will obtain a discount on several arrangements, products and services. ‘Organizing this business club worldwide will take up quite some time’, says Mr Lopes. For the time being, his portfolio won’t see a further extension.

Lopes Horeca Consulting has a plan-studded future lying ahead, including the development of a 120 room, five star hotel (including two wedding suites and twenty business apartments provided with state of the art equipment) being evidence of this. Groups up to 500 people will be able to use the spacious conference accommodation.
In addition, the building has a 150 seat restaurant, a 60 seat multifunctional brasserie, a multifunctional bar/dancing/restaurant where the guests will be able to enjoy lunches as well as diners. A swimming pool and sauna, bowling and tennis courts provide a wide range of relaxation facilities.
Furthermore, a casino will be one of the features in the Lopes hotel. The foundation stone for the new five star hotel will probably be laid mid 2007.
A short time ago Lopes has founded a business club, with a number of membership
of about 100 people. This business club can be located in his hotel and will ultimately have a membership of 5,000. Coming from areas such as politics, business and (top)sport, according to manager/owner Silvestre Lopes, who – with this string of developments ahead of him – envisages a bright future for himself.
